Three Tips For Perfect Fresh 48 Pictures
Blue and pink striped hospital blankets, impossibly tiny arm bands, delicate skin fresh and rosy with a glow that only newborns possess...it's in these small hours, these little wonders, that the Long family welcomed baby Ryder. Room 386 was bursting with love when I walked in and I'm honored to share it with you today.
Are you curious about how to ace your Fresh 48 Session? Packing your baby bags is hard enough, so what do you do to prepare for your newborn pictures at the hospital?
Here is my take on prepping for a Fresh 48:
Be yourself! I'm there to capture these first, raw moments. It's quite intimate to come in and take these pictures, whether it is your first baby or you have more kiddos at home! It's a very personal moment and I'm there to document exactly that- your reactions and shared love together.
Bring what you would typically pack. That's it! A Fresh 48 isn't so much about all the fun new outfits, but more about the newness of baby. So I will be looking for those hospital blankets, teeny knit hats and hospital bands. All the stuff that says, "I just had a baby!" If there is a special heirloom or blanket/hat that has specific meaning, bring that. Save the rest for your newborn session.
Include siblings! Some of the best photos are the moment family and siblings get to meet baby for the first time! I love coordinating that moment with you, so let me know and we will make it happen.
These hospital days are fleeting and go so quickly- a Fresh 48 is done during the first 24-48 hours, so let's talk about what that looks like!
