Family Session

When we first found out that we would be moving to Alabama, I cried…and then I took to social media for support. I reached out in every group I am a part of to try to find any connection to Alabama.

It was looking pretty dismal…I won’t lie. Even in my Down syndrome groups, I just couldn’t seem to find anyone.

Slowly, I started to tell more people in Houston, and they would share the names of people they knew. A lot of them had lived there but moved away. Plenty more were friendly but there was no connection.
Then, one evening, a local friend introduced me online to Jenny and Tesney. Both ladies wrapped me up and carried me through the move. When we finally arrived, they came to my aid again, check in on me and making time to make sure I was settled in my new home town. Big heart, this mama has, big heart.
The more we talked, the more I liked her, but it just never worked out that we had tie to meet up.
By chance, I mentioned to her that we were taking a short trip to the beach. her family was too! So, a week later, I got to hug her neck for the first time on the white beaches of Perido Key. I can’t speak for her, but for me, it was love at first hug! Her boys are just the sweetest things, and her story is incredible. I couldn’t stop listening to the intricate details that patched together their family story.
She oozed grace and you can feel how kind and connected her family is.

You can read more about her story here: http://oureyesopened.blogspot.com

Clayton tenderly looked after his brother, arm wrapped around him and diligent at his side. The heart on this kid is like one I have never witnessed before.
Kirill brought the attitude but opened up for some smiles and snuggles with his family. He changes the feel of the space he is in and I love being in that space.
Here is a little bit of that space...chasing boys on the beach, white squeaky sand, genuine love and tenderness. Soaking up what it means to be family.
