It’s official! The weather is getting warmer and the beach is calling my name!
I love beach sessions because it offers a certain amount of freedom. Your children can run and play, you can snuggle and watch from the shore and we are able to move around. All of this makes beach sessions the perfect family outing and lifestyle session.
Galveston sometimes gets a bad rap for not being as scenic or pretty as other beaches, but if you go to the right places, I promise you there is beauty to be had all around!
Get ready to get wet and take a look at my top favorite beaching spots!

Seawolf Park- This historical area is not ideal for swimming, but makes for a great fishing spot and day touring the area. Named after the SS Seawolf, which sunk in WWII, take in the museum and sights for the day.

East Beach- A laid back area that hosts seasonal events. Explore this area for volleyball, horseback riding and more!

Stewart Beach- This is where my family normally parks for the day. You pay to park here but hav access to restrooms and food. It can be crowded but it’s the perfect spot right off the main road to enjoy a day at the beach.

Beachtown- This is where the magic happens! I LOVE this spot for photos! Generally this is where we go explore and get those incredible beach photos 😉 This is a neighborhood, so public beach access would be what you’re looking for to avoid trespassing.

Crystal Beach- Located in Port Bolivar, we love to get away from the crowds at this popular location. Take a ferry to get over to this less populated stretch of beach.

Galveston Island State Park– Hands down a must if you have never visited this location before. Safe for children to swim and play the day away. Piers for fishing and interesting channels for boating.

Galveston Pleasure Pier– Last but not least, the pier makes for a fun family night, date night or amazing photo location. Hide away from the harsh sun and winds that accompany going to the beach, and capture this beautiful, historical location with some family time!
