Frequently Asked Questions

How long will my session last?

Most sessions last around 30 minutes, but I never set a timer. We will shoot until it feels like we have captured what we need or until your kids are kaput.
Newborn sessions last anywhere from 1-3 hours depending on your baby.

What do i do if my kids cry?

Don’t worry! There is plenty of time for big feelings- that is the beauty of a lifestyle session! We can pause for breaks, have a snack or embrace the moment and steal some snuggles.

Do you offer payment plans?

Absolutely! To book your session, there is a $200 non-refundable retainer that will hold your date for you. Te rest of the balance is due a week before your session. If you have a specific payment plan you want to work out, let’s chat!

How many photos do I get?

Every session is different so I cannot promise a specific number of photos. I work hard to deliver as many images as I can. Most clients can expect between 70-150 images. To get the most out of the experience, embrace the in-between moments with your babies- play with them, kiss them, and just love on them. Focus less on looking at the camera and more on spending time with your family and the rest will flow like magic!

What to do if the weather is bad?

Bad weather happens, and in Houston, it can come on without much warning. While I love a good sunny day session, cloudy days are beautiful in their own way. Don’t shy away from an overcast day or jump to reschedule because of some clouds. Overcast is not bad, it can actually create very evenly lit and wonderful photos. However, if it is going to be overcast and you prefer sunshine, you may be offered a rescheduled date at no additional fee- depending on availability. If the weather is bad (extreme heat or cold, or rain/natural disaster), Ashley will contact you to find another day that will work for everyone’s schedule.

What to do if my family is sick?

Sickness happens- if anyone in your family is experiencing flu-like symptoms, let me know the moment you know so we can reschedule your session. It’s better not to force it or risk exposing anyone, plus I offer reschedules at no additional cost!

How long until I get my pictures?

You can expect your final gallery 2-4 weeks after your session date. Who knows? If I get a little frisky, you may see it before then! If you need your session in a rush, ask about our rush fee!

Can I print my photos?

This is something I pride myself in, I will never require print minimums or orders. I am happy to print your photos for you at my professional grade lab or direct you to a commercial lab I like. You can print your images at a place that works for you!

I think this fall was our fifth session with Ashley and I would have had a panic attack without her. My kids were monsters and she managed to still capture magic. Ashley was AMAZING! She was super accommodating to our family’s needs and did a fantastic job. We did my daughter’s 1 year portraits with a cake smash and some beautiful family pictures as well. She is great with little ones and adults alike! She has a great eye for photography, and she got our photos back to us in a quick timeframe! I cannot say enough great things about Ashley. She was quick to respond, flexible (our first sessions was rained out), has great locations for the session, and really did a great job capturing our family!
